Goobay RJ45 LAN patch cord cable tester – continuity measurement, detects short circuits and breaks

The tester is used to measure the continuity of LAN cabling. It enables the detection of incorrect connections, short circuits, and breaks in the cabling. It can be used to test connections made with UTP and FTP twisted pair cables terminated with RJ45 plugs, as well as a telephone cable terminated with an RJ11 connector. The device consists of two parts: the main unit and a terminator mounted on the two ends of the tested cable section. It has one function button that allows you to select one of two operating modes. After switching on, the tester automatically begins checking each wire separately, and in the case of FTP cables, also the correctness of the shield connection to the modular plug. It is also possible to manually set the test for each wire one by one. To change the basic operating mode of the device, press and hold the function button for about 2 seconds. In this mode, to move on to testing the next wire, press the function button once. The test result is indicated by illuminated LEDs.

The tester consists of two parts:

• the main unit, equipped with a switch, LEDs, and connectors: RJ45 and RJ11
• an attachment (terminator) equipped with LEDs and two connectors: RJ45 and RJ11

The set does not include batteries.
